About the project

In September 2021, Form Visual was invited to take photos at Kensington Palace in a project that involved lowering its delicate chandeliers to be professionally cleaned, further revealing some of the Palace’s intricate ceilings and artwork.
New external brickwork was additionally carried out on Queen Anne’s Orangery in the gardens surrounding Kensington Palace, designed by Sir Christopher Wren under direct orders from Queen Anne, as a greenhouse for exotic plants.

Form Visual were put forward by heritage building and refurbishment company Sykes & Son Limited, who carried out a large portion of the restoration, gilding and brickwork on the Palace over the past 10-12 months. The process was documented on ‘Kensington Palace: Behind Closed Doors’, a documentary shown on Channel 5 in the summer.
